Slimy transparent film covering the skin of my turtle's neck, hands and feet - What is it?

Is it harmful and does it cause any discomfort? How do I get rid of it?|||This sounds like residue from chlorinated water. Is he being kept in tap water? Even treated it can often leave this kind of residue.

Switch out his water to a filtered or bottled water for a little while and see if the condition improves.

If not, it could be a mold of some kind. In that case you should take your turtles and a sample of the water to your reptile vet, who can give you more accurate information as to why this is happening and how to prevent it.|||like someone stated

it is your turtle shedding its skin which is completely normal

it will come off eventually altough its very annoying to look at|||It is simply your turtle shedding perfectly normal|||I don%26#039;t know mush about turtle but I think its a second skin(kind of like the second eyelid of some animals).
