What is causing my coworker to get dry, red patches on her skin during the winter?

She says that she puts Neosporin on her spots, but it doesn%26#039;t help. Her mother suggests that maybe bathing in hot water during the winter is causing the dry patches. Could this be the case? What do you think?|||Im guessing, but maybe she has psoriasis, its quite a common condition. However many people have never heard of it.

A recent study has linked smoking to psoriasis.

Edit: Many illnesses manifest themselves in the winter as the immune system is normally a little weaker that time of year.|||It can still be eczema. There are different kinds of it. I have the same problem in the winter, too. I also have it on my hands only in the winter. The doctor told me it was eczema. Yes, bathing in hot water can cause it. Tell her to try and use Eucerin and Aveeno lotions.
