They have it in a tube so you can carry it in your purse, for easy access during the day. Before bedtime especially, apply Vaseline around the fingernails. Using too much is a waste of product. If you have your hands in water a lot, use rubber gloves. The chemicals in many household cleaners can be tough on your skin.|||i agree with jesuscruz, olive oil. that is what is in that product they apply on the buffer and make your nails shine. it only takes a hint of olive oil. buff your nails too, it will look like you%26#039;ve been to a salon and had your nails done.|||Give yourself a weekly manicure. Shape and file the nails, soak them in warm soapy water, push back your cuticles with an orangwood stick. Trim if you%26#039;d like with a cuticle trimmer but make sure not to go crazy cutting too much. apply a lotion to your hands. Take the excess oils off your nail with polish remover. Apply a base coat two coats of polish and a top coat.

For in between maintenance, buy a oil made for cuticles, creative nails make a good one. Apply at before bedtime.

Moisturize after being in the cold or washing your hands. It takes work but they%26#039;ll look beautiful|||After you rub your Lubridern into your cuticles and the skin around your fingernails, try putting on some petroleum jelly, just a dab, before bed time. If you have any plastic gloves, put those on also. This will hold all the moisture in around your fingernails, and will make that skin healthy again in no time.

A product you might want to check out buying, that works great for this problem, and chapped hands, and other skin, is a product made and sold by Avon. It%26#039;s called %26quot;Cracked Heel Relief Cream.%26quot; You can get it on sale for around 1.99. It%26#039;s a miracle cream! I play sand volleyball, and the sand will tear up my feet... make them bloody, etc. This cream will fix that in no time! I also put it around my cuticles on my fingers. It works on burns, and other skin problems also.

If you don%26#039;t have an Avon rep., look in your phone book or on line.

Take care|||I do not know of an at home remedy, but I like to use cuticle cream on mine. It keeps them really smooth. You can get it at any department store. I like to also go into my local Sally Beauty Supply store. They have various products designed for that. I also like to use the Satin Hands line of products you can get from Mary Kay. It is like a 4-5 step process, but it works wonders. I like to do that each night before I go to bed. After I am finished I use those mitten looking things to put on my hands for a while to lock in the moisture. I love it. Best of luck. :)|||Not sure wether this counts as an at home remedy but it works magic.

Lush have a product called Lemony Flutter, its a cuticle butter and can be used on elbows, heels, elbow etc.

Smells lovely, very citrus sweet.

It cost £4.50

However the main ingredients are shea butter and beeswax so perhaps these ingredients alone would do the same job.

Hope this helps|||sally hansen cuticle pen works great.

I put it on a few times a day and it%26#039;s really helped.

also, put on hand lotion twice a day (or after washing)|||try aveeno or baby oil at night|||@ home remedy would be olive oil- however, any type of cuticle oil otc @ your local pharmacy- there is also vitamin e oil which would be great- you may even consider a paraffin wax treatment- they are awesome- and always moisturize- that will help maintain the health of your cuticles.|||Not sure about home recipes but try cuticle cream. It%26#039;s designed especially for moisturising your dry cuticles. Works for me.|||Go for a hand cream like a lightly scented one from bath and body not a lotion. Creams tend to help heal more so then a lotion. I however use nexcare advanced skin cream. It got real bad when I worked in a factory so I used to apply that cream constantly and at night I would put gloves on and sleep with them like non powdered latex or even rubber gloves would work with extra cream on my hands that helped a lot. Also try burts bees cuticle cream.|||Vitamin E - get the soft gels and poke a hole in it and put it on your nails. Home parafin wax if you have a melting pot, or sleep with plastic gloves on under regular gloves for a couple of nights, then your whole hand will be soft.|||Use a hand and nail cream, like Natio, Dr Lewinn%26#039;s, Garnier or Cutex. Natio is my fave.
