How can you get softer skin using household products?

My skin is always very dry regardless of how much i lotion my skin and no matter what types of lotions i try (i.e. oatmeal, baby lotion, ect.). What can i do that involves household stuff? Like stuff i can find in my kitchen?|||I have another suggestion with sugar...create a mix of lotion(preferably cocoa butter, but any would do) and white sugar. White sugar because of how this will be used, brown sugar is to coarse. Use it massage your face, moving in a circular motion on each area of the face. This exfoliates the skin and decreases the appearance of fine lines and it helps to keep your skin soft by rejuvenating the cells. Added bonus - over time it reduces any dark spots on your face. At night, you can use a very, very thin layer of petroleum jelly before you go to bed to moisturize the face (however I wouldn%26#039;t advise you to use this during the day as it will attract dust and dirt which will clog your pores)|||u might try use honey as mask, put on your body/face for five minutes or so and then wash, or you can use thin olive oil, but the thing is it will give smell so u can put it for an hour or so before having a bath or shower..|||put brown sugar and water mix it together and apply to your face.|||Mayonaise, mix equal parts of salt and mayo, rub on, wash off. Salt exfoliates, mayo moisturizes. Because it is vegie oil based it actually penetrates skin where the lotions you mentioned are mineral oil based and only sit of the surface.

No, you won%26#039;t smell funny.|||Olive oil does miracles for dry skin and hair.

Put it on before shower.|||Try the source below. It provides facial recipes for various skin conditions.|||I know this isnt a household product but neutogena pure glow is amazing.it leaves your skin soft and glowing.and its really affordable.

a facial mask ive tried before was:

1 yogurt.

a few tea spoons of oatmeal

mix together and slap on the face.it leaves it feeling soft and smooth.|||i have dry skin as well. i use plain honey. put a layer all over your face (not too close to the eyes, and not so much that it%26#039;s dripping off --b/c honey will do that if you use too much) and let it on for about 20 minutes then wash off using your regular face wash or even better, dove unscented soap (which my dermatologist always encourages patients to use) and you will be left with soft, glowing skin. this is one of those %26quot;red carpet secrets of the stars%26quot; and it works! i was also pleasantly surprised at how easily honey comes off the face; no scrubbing required. also-- my favorite moisturizer is called Celestial (it%26#039;s very gentle, not oily, and has a very light vanilla-almondish scent) and it%26#039;s made by Lush (just google Lush and you%26#039;ll get the website) now, you can feel it on your skin, which i know some people don%26#039;t like, but with having dry skin, i have yet to find a good %26quot;light%26quot; moisturizer. hope it works for you!!|||There are also a lot of recipes for the skin that you can try as well such as a mask for dry skin. The ingredients that you will need are 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, and a few drops of rose water (I told you that you could find everything in your kitchen). After you make the mixture, you will smooth it over your face and throat, and then wash it off with warm water. You can find many recipes and ingredients for dry skin through the Internet.
